<p>PURPOSE:To produce an artificial fine spherical aggregate usable in the production of concrete by using industrial wastes and unused resources as a raw material. CONSTITUTION:Industrial waste such as coal ash or unused resource such as clay is used as a raw material for the production of aggregate. Pellets of <=5mm diameter produced from the raw material is covered with a layer of refractory powder and baked at 1050-1300 deg.C. The refractory powder layer on the surface of the pellet is effective for preventing the fusion of the pellets and the welding of the pellet and the wall of baking furnace in the baking of the pellet. The ratio of water to cement (W/C ratio) can be decreased by the use of the aggregate of the present invention to enable the production of concrete having high fluidity. The effect can be further improved by the combined use of an admixture such as water-reducing agent.</p> |
