Braking system for a vehicle having a mechanism for controlling both braking slip (ABS) and drive slip (ABR) having a common self priming pump (14) which in the ASR case draws on the fluid medium container (2) via the master cylinder (1). Two check valves (20,21) and an auxiliary pipe (22) are provided which allow, when the ASR valve (4) is closed, delivery by the pump to the wheel brake (8) of the nondriven wheel, whilst pressure drop can only occur on the pressure side of the pump. ADVANTAGE - Braking circuit which protects the non-driven wheels of a vehicle from pressure drop or pressure build up in the ASR mode.
