PURPOSE:To obtain an optical scanning system of simple constitution which facilitates axis alignment in a subscanning direction and the adjustment of a spot and is variable in spot diameter and small in variation in optical path efficiency with the spot diameter. CONSTITUTION:Two plane glass plates 110a and 10b are provided between a cylindrical lens 103, which converges light in the subscanning direction, and a polygon mirror rotatably on an axis perpendicular to the subscanning direction, and the glass plates can be fixed after adjustment. The axis alignment is possible by adjusting the angle of one plane glass plate and the two plane glass plates are rotated in opposite directions to vary the subscanning-directional axis and adjust or vary the spot diameter while holding the variation in the optical path efficiency small. |
