Toothed belt drive with low noise generation - has specially shaped element inserted in space between pulleys
摘要
The noise generated by a toothed belt drive is reduced by inserting a specially shaped element (3) in the space enclosed by the two sides of the belt and the driving and driven pulleys. This element has concave surfaces at each end which fit around the pulleys so that there is a gap of 2 to 3mm between each concave surface and the corresponding pulley. A similar gap is formed between the sides of the element and the straight portions of the belt. The element (3) reduces the air turbulence at the points where the belt engages the belt teeth and disengages from the belt teeth. This reduction in turbulence reduces the noise generated by the belt. USE/ADVANTAGE - Toothed belt drive with reduced noise.
