PURPOSE:To remove toner adhering to the side end of a direct printing plate. CONSTITUTION:A grinding device 130 provided with a conical grinding stone 140 which is rotated by a motor 136 is provided at a position corresponding to the side end 15 of the direct printing plate 14. The corner part on the photoconductive photosensitive layer side (upper surface side) of the side end 15 of the direct printing plate 14 which is moved by a belt conveyor 126 is ground by the stone 140 and processed to be chamfered, and also the toner is removed therefrom.
