PURPOSE:To prevent surface scratch on a fixing roller, by setting fixing roller temperature at 2 steps, the first step at the softening point of a toner, and the second step at a given fixing temperature, and rotating the roller at the set temperature of the first step. CONSTITUTION:Fixing roller 1 consists of fixing heat source 2 fixed inside the roller 1, metallic cylinder 3, and teflon layer 4. Pressing roller 13 contacting with roller 1 as its counterpart is composed of metallic shaft 14 and silicone rubber 15 stuck to the circumference of shaft 14. The first set temperature is set to the softening point of a toner, 80-120 deg.C, and the second set temperature to fixing temperature, 170-200 deg.C, and the second set temperature to fixing temperature, 170-200 deg.C, and roller 1 is rotated at the first set temperature, thus preventing scratches of the surfaces through the toner of rollers 1, 13, because the rotation begins in the state that the toner solidified around the surface of the fixing roller is being soften. |
