<p>PURPOSE:To offer a magnetic recording and reproducing device without generating a waste null part from being formed at a joint when recording is performed on a magnetic tape on which the recording is already performed to the middle way successively. CONSTITUTION:A recording information detecting head 1 is mounted to a cylinder so that it can be located at a different track position separately from a magnetic recording and reproducing head 6, and an unrecorded tip part on the magnetic tape is detected by the recording information detecting head 1, and loading that the recording of the magnetic tape is performed by a main control part 5 via an information detecting part 3 so that the magnetic recording and reproducing head 6 can be positioned at the unrecorded tip part is performed. Also, when the recording prevention of the magnetic tape is detected by a lug break detecting part 7, the loading that the magnetic tape is rewound and reproduced is performed.</p> |
