PURPOSE:To check and display the zip codes in a Japanese word input system just with input of the corresponding addresses when these zip codes are unknown. CONSTITUTION:In an address conversion dictionary 5, the addresses written in KANA (Japanese syllabary) letters are registered into a header part in the units of wards, cities and districts respectively, and all zip codes included in the addresses registered in the header part are registered in an address description part in the units of towns and villages. Then a screen dividing means 6 is added to display in division the screen of a display means 2. An input means 1 is provided with a zip code key which designates the start/cancel of consultation of the dictionary 5 and the start/cancel of the means 6, an arrow key which selects a desired zip code, and an execution key which decides the relevant zip code. Then the character strings inputted by the means 1 are continuously converted into the KANA-KANJI mixed character strings by a KANA/ KANJI conversion dictionary 3 and a KANA/KANJI conversion means 4 until the zip code key is pushed. When the zip code key is pushed, a zip code is checked based on the corresponding address and displayed on the means 2 through the dictionary 5 and the means 6. |
