The invention relates to a device for enabling a reduction in noise from a motor 2 fitted in the hull of a boat, in which the motor is placed in a specially configured motor casing 4 and in which the motor casing 4 is placed in a chamber 5 belonging to the hull, further to which the motor casing and the chamber are mutually coordinated such that a gap 7 is formed between them as a result of the said chamber 5 being given a shape somewhat larger than the shape of the motor casing 4, the motor casing accommodating selected parts placed at a distance from the chamber configured in the hull, and in which the inner surface of the chamber, through the use of discrete elastic distancing members 8,9, is arranged to support the motor casing and absorb, inter alia, gravitational forces from the motor casing and the motor 2 fitted therein. The chamber 5 formed in the hull 1 is constituted by a prefabricated box-shaped unit, which can be fixedly applied 13 to the keelson-related section 1a of the hull. <IMAGE> |
