PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of entire loop network by allowing each line exchange on a time division loop exchange network to assign and manage the time slot for setting and opening of a channel to the communication related to the own exchange. CONSTITUTION:Time division line exchanges 10, 20, 30 and 40 are connected by a time division multiplex transmission line 50 having N sets of time slots sectioned by a prescribed time and have respectively time slot management memories 11, 21, 31 and 41 of time slot numbers N1-N4 managed respectively by each exchange. When the time division line exchange 10 starts communication with the time division line exchange 20, the calling time division line exchange 10 in outgoing side selects an idle time slot N1i from the time slot management memory 11, transmits the N1i to the time division line exchange 20, makes the memory of the N1i in the time slot management memory 11 busy, sets the channel and start communication. When all the management memories 11 are busy, the exchange 10 request the selection of idle time slot to the exchange 20. The time slot selection assigning function is not concentrated on one line exchange on the loop in this way but distributed in response to the amount of communication of each line exchange. |
