This method consists in performing separative analysis by means of gas chromatography of the mixture of organic compounds constituting the product, in referencing, by means of a combination of gas-phase chromatography/mass spectrometry, one or more molecules which are characteristic of the mixture, in measuring, by isotopic mass spectrometry, the <13>C isotopic abundance of this or these molecules and, finally, in modifying the <13>C content of this or these molecules by addition of molecules which are similar but the <13>C content of which has previously been increased or reduced. <IMAGE>
