METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MEASURING OPTICAL QUALITY OF GLASS

PURPOSE: To provide a method for evaluating the optical quality of glass using a projecting technique applicable to the inspection of a front glass in a production line. CONSTITUTION: The shades of a glass 3 projected by using localized light sources 2, 15 are analyzed by a camera 6 supported by a computer. The illuminance at the one point M of a screen 4 is compared with that at the same point M having no glass 3, and the measured value is applied by the optical and geometrical parameters of the corresponding point (m) of the glass 3. The resolution in one direction can be adjusted by altering the size of a light source in this direction.
