The copper elements (1) are pref. provided with a sleeve (2) of plastics material. The elements can be joined by dowels. The elements can be contained in a connecting hose (4), e.g. of plastics material. Separate or such an assembly of elements can be installed in the walls of a building or placed in the earth to protect a given area. The elements are from 1 to 4 cm in length. USE/ADVANTAGE - Can cover large area at low material cost without being unsightly and can actually be out of sight. Can be installed in animal stalls, horse boxes and similar without risk of being damaged by animals. Whole building can be protected.
