PURPOSE:To obtain an ink jet recording device equipped with a discharge surface cleaning device by making it possible to eliminate the possibilities of generating the deterioration of a throughput and also generating ink contamination of a recording material or ink scattering, and preventing the reduction of blade 19 wiping effect upon a discharge orifice surface 31 under a compact structure. CONSTITUTION:The subject device is composed of a blade which wipes a discharge orifice surface of a recording device through sliding contact with the discharge orifice surface, a blade cleaning device which slides in contact with the blade and thereby cleans the blade, and a spent ink collection device which guides ink captured using the blade cleaning device to a specified ink reservoir. |
