An electrolytic prim. battery which can be discharged at high temp. has alkaline electrolytes in a metallic casing of the round cell type. The casing has an outer cylinder of positive silver oxide or pyrolusite powder pressings and a concentric inner negative of a cadmium electrode made into a round wrap with an intermediate separator incorporating PTFE.
