The system has a device which operates in response to the force exerted by the ski boot, so that when a threshold value is reached, an electromagnetic device is operated giving a release action. A base plate forming a bearing for sections of the operating mechanism slides above the ski surface. This supports an L-shaped spring loaded pivot arm holding a clip against the edge of the boot cap and also a front support combined with a spring system controlling an upper release arm which is also L-shaped. Between the front support and the first L-shaped arm is a horizontal spring which holds forwards a vertical tilting lever connected by a pair of horizontal springs to a front lever system behind the front support. This pair of springs is connected by an upper vertical spring to the second L-shaped arm above, which interlocks with the front lever system, and which swings upwards into the release position.
