<p>A bottle 1 obtained by injection orientation blow molding is provided with a handle 7. A handle mounting portion 4 is positioned at a predetermined height and has a larger diameter than the support ring 3. A mounting groove 4A is formed in an outer wall. An upper edge 5 of the groove 4A has four locating notches 6 at equal intervals which engage with four corresponding projecting surfaces 9 in a shoulder 10 formed integrally with a mounting ring 8 on the handle. The upper edge of projecting surfaces 9 are provided with a recess which is fitted into an attachment mechanism 13 to prevent lateral deviation of the mounting ring 8. A heat shrinkable band (15, fig 5) may be fitted to the base of the handle to provide another support point. The bottles neck is molded first (see figs 7 & 8), by injection molding, this molding is then transferred to a blow mold where the bottle is formed (fig 8). Upon forming the bottle the flange (26. fig 7) is brought into close contact with a wall of the bottle so as to form the upper edge 5 of the groove 4.
