PURPOSE:To correct color balance by means of a simple control irrespective of a difference in secondary transfer efficiency between color toners by changing the conditions under which the toner image is formed on the electrostatic latent image carrier, each time a toner image divided according to color is formed on an electrostatic latent image carrier, thereby decreasing amounts of attached toners in order. CONSTITUTION:Each time an image divided according to color is formed on a photosensitive drum 1, the voltage of a developing bias is gradually increased while the output of an electrifying charger 2 is made constant. Thus, the amounts of toners attached to the photosensitive drum 1 are decreased in order. That is, of the amounts of toners attached, the yellow toner whose secondary transfer efficiency is lowest has the biggest amount. As a result, the secondary transfer is carried out with each color toner of almost equal amount. Thus, even if the color toners differ in the secondary transfer efficiency, the color toners of the equal amounts can be secondarily transferred to a transfer material 2, and a color picture whose color balance is satisfactory is obtained. |
