PURPOSE:To obtain an image of high density and contrast with a small quantity of silver by coloring a support for an image receiving layer so that the optical reflection density of the support is made >=1 higher than <=0.6 density of the white silver part of a transferred silver part formed in the layer. CONSTITUTION:In the photographic material for a silver complex salt diffusion transfer method (DTR) the silver halide content of silver halide emulsion layer 2' on negative material support 1 is reduced to a low level such as <=0.5mg/m<2>. Support 4' for image receiving layer 3' is colored to >=1, preferably >=1.5 optical reflection density with a colorant such as carbon black. A transferred silver image forming part produced in layer 3' is developed so that it is converted into a white silver layer of <=0.6 optical reflection density. Thus, the reflection density of the image part of layer 3' is made >=1.0 higher than that of the transferred silver image part, and an image of high density and contrast especially for a block copy material is obtd. while saving silver halide considerably as compared to the formation of a conventional black silver image. |
