<p>PURPOSE:To realize a stable tape running by keeping a tape tension constant in a transition state where a tape is accelerated or decelerated and in a normal state where the tape runs at a normal speed. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape 1 runs with the rotation of a capstan 4. An S reel 2 supplies the tape generating a specified back tension and a T reel 3 winds the tape at a specified winding tension. The current tape speed and the tape tension are determined by various command signals to be supplied from a system controller 28. A tape speed control by the capstan is performed with a capstan control circuit 17. The circuit 17 detects as speed error a difference between a period of a CFG signal which is generated at a frequency proportional to a rotational speed of a capstan motor 16 and a target period determined by a command signal Cc to be supplied from the system controller 28 to perform a speed control.</p> |
