PURPOSE:To obtain the strong carrier of an alumina layer by successively coating the surface of carrier made of an aluminum-containing heat-resistant alloyed steel with a slurry of minute particles of hydrated alumina and water, and then a slurry of gamma-alumina particles, hydrated alumina and water. CONSTITUTION:At first, the surface of a metal carrier made of aluminum- containing heat-resistant alloyed steel is coated with the first alumina slurry containing minute particles of hydrated alumina and water and the coated carrier is dried and baked. Whereupon, the coating layer becomes an alumina layer of gamma-alumina and further becomes a gamma-alumina film. Next, the coated carrier is coated with the second alumina slurry containing gamma-alumina particles, hydrated alumina and water and the coated one is dried and baked. Whereupon, the first alumina layer and the gamma-alumina particles are strongly bonded and the gamma-alumina particles are also mutually bonded strongly. |
