发明名称 Transfer of cathodic current to wire in galvanising process - in which pressurised air flows through swivelling contact arm to circulate around contact point and clear amorphous metal build=up
摘要 Process for transferring cathodic current to a wire passing through an electrolyte in a galvanising plant. A wire passing horizontally through the electrolyte is contacted by a swivelling arm through which negative current is applied to the wire. Normally a build-up of amorphous metals occurs on the contacting surfaces which affects reliability of contact and ultimately the surface treatment quality. In the new process, air under pressure is forced through the swivelling arm to circulate around the contact point between arm and wire. Electrolyte is purged from the area of contact and a metal build-up is prevented. Pref. a contact arm formed by a thin-wall hollow cylinder is pivoted on a shaft., At the remote end of the arm is a contact head which rests on the wire at 60 deg.C and has a wire guiding groove into which an air duct enters. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in a wire galvanising process, prevents amorphous metal build-up, improves contact between wire and cathode to give better surface quality.
