PURPOSE:To improve the reliability at the time of system actuation by providing a POS (point-of-sales) devices with a backup memory which holds a memory file with a battery. CONSTITUTION:The POS device 1 is equipped with a control part 10, a memory (MEM) 11 in the POS device, and the backup memory (BPM) 12 which holds the memory file with the battery. When a system switch (SYSW) is turned on, an installing means 101 loads system information and a program in the BPM 12 and a program loading means (PRLD) 102 loads the program from the BPM 12 to the MEM 11 through an automatic switching means (AUTS) 103. When abnormality is detected during the program loading, the PRLD 102 controls the AUTS 103 to load a program from a floppy disk device 2 or terminal controller 3 to the MEM 11. Consequently, the reliability at the time of the system startup is improved. |
