Cement mortar moulded bodies contain uniformly distributed metallic fibres as an inserted reinforcement; short segments of straight steel fibres, coated with brass, are incorporated in the cement mortar in a quantity of 2.5 - 10%, calculated with respect to the total quantity. The fibres have a diameter of 0.15 mm. and a length of 5-15 mm. and are introduced into the mortar with agitation and uniformly distributed; the mixture can be cast into any desired shape. The moulded mass containing the steel fibres has an excellent mechanical strength and more particularly a high resistance to bending and compression. |
