In order to achieve centring of the indicator metal ball 8 of a thawing detector device 4, an apparatus is provided with two portions 1 and 2 mutually articulated about a hinge 3, in such a manner that, between them, it is possible for at least one detector device 4, preferably a plurality of detector devices, to be held securely by virtue of a recess 5 provided for this purpose in one 2 of the apparatus portions. Each one of the apparatus portions 1 and 2 has a permanent magnet 6 arranged in such a manner that it is possible for the indicator metal ball 8 to be held centred in the median transverse plane 7 of the device 4 whilst freezing of the liquid of said devices 4 takes place. <IMAGE>
