The shaped body of the electrical fusible insert is designed as a contact cap (3) with an elastic deformable, pref. central recess. The contact caps (3) have recesses, which mechanically and electrically contact the fusible conductor (4) and as far as possible the characteristic signal wire (2) additionally around the inner edges of the fuse housing. The method for the improved assembly of the fuse inserts with granular type quenching medium filling, includes the filling with loose quenching medium, after the recommended presealing filled just below the edge. The free space remaining at the upper edge of the melting duct is taken up with an elastic vol. reducing shaped part, so that a pressure is exerted on the quenching medium.
