PURPOSE:To obtain the subject inhibitor capable of administrating to poultrys and domestic animals for inhibiting the intestinal growth of Campylobacter and for preventing contamination of meat with said bacteria by using Clostridium butyricum as the active component. CONSTITUTION:Clostridium butyricum, e.g. Clostridium butyricum Miyairi (Miyairi Bacillus) is used as the active component and blended generally with a carrier, e.g. a feed for poultrys or domestic animals. In a form of the resultant mixture, the above-mentioned bacilli are administrated to a poultry such as a chicken, a turkey, a Japanese quail or a duck or a domestic animal such as a cattle, a pig or a sheep, especially to a chicken, thus inhibiting the growth of Campylobacter as a causative bacterium of food poisoning in the intestine of the above-mentioned animal, and enabling the inhibition of growth of Campylobacter in the poultry or the domestic animal so as to provide meat therefrom low in contamination with Campylobacter during dressing thereof. |
