<p>A self-centering guide device for feeding bars to a spindle of a machine tool, by which circular bars or polygonal bars (13, 13a) of different cross-width dimensions can be fed, maintaining them coaxially aligned to the spindle. The device comprises at least first and second guide jaws (16, 17) for supporting and sliding the bars (13, 13a), said jaws (16, 17) being adjacent to each other and circumferentially arranged around the bar to be fed; the jaws (16, 17) comprise semicircular guide surfaces (16a, 17a) and are provided on pivotable arms (21, 22) which can rotate around pivotal axes (15', 15'') circumferentially arranged around the spindle axis, and control means (23, 25) to simultaneously rotate said pivotable arms (21, 22) in the same rotational direction moving said guide jaws (16, 17) between an open condition and respectively a closed position for guiding said bar (13, 13a). <IMAGE></p> |
