PURPOSE:To avoid abrasion and damage caused by useless friction between a photosensitive body and a transfer material supporting member and between the photosensitive body and an endless belt for transfer by integrating the photosensitive body with a member for forming an image so that a unit may be formed and making the unit contact with or separate from a transfer material at a transfer part in an image forming device where a toner image is formed by the photosensitive body and the member for forming the image which is disposed near the photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:When the transfer material progresses to a transfer part further after transfer is finished and the transfer material is carried to a fixing part 8, the photosensitive body 1 exists at a position shown in Figure and the transfer is continuously performed. In the case that the succeeding transfer material does not exist, a solenoid 12 is energized so as to move a developing unit 9 from a position where it abuts on a supporting member 6 to a position where it retreats from the abutting position according to a transfer finishing signal. After the unit 9 is retreated in a state where the succeeding transfer material does not exist, the photosensitive body is rotated further and cleaned by a cleaner 4, then it becomes in a state where it gets in a next image forming stage and stops after post rotation. |
