The mechanism transmits a driving force between two components, the first of which slides in a housing and partly protrudes from it, engaging with a cover sealing it. On the side away from the housing the cover engages with the second component. The cover (5) rotates in the housing (1), and so engages with the first components as to turn when the latter slides. The axis of rotation of the cover can be at right angles to that along which the first comopnent moves.
