PURPOSE:To obtain a gas insulated impact voltage generator which eliminates the deterioration in the performance of an insulating gas and improves the reliability by connecting a plurality of capacitors to be charged and connected in parallel with each other in a container sealed with insulating medium directly to switching elements. CONSTITUTION:A container 1 seals an insulating gas and is grounded. When a DC power source 9 is connected to capacitors 2a1-2n2, the capacitors 2a1-2n2 are charged through respective resistors 3a1-3m3. When switching elements 4a- 4n are conducted after the capacitors 2a1-2n2 are changed, the capacitors 2a1- 2n2 are connected in series, and synthesized charged voltage is applied to a load 13. The waveform of the applied voltage is controlled by the opening or closing of the switching elements 7a-7n, 8a-8n connected in parallel with the resistors 5a-5n, the coils 6a-6n at this time. |
