PURPOSE:To make collected toner smoothly flow in a housing and to perform stable and excellent cleaning operation at all times by slanting the rear wall of a toner recovery container away from an image carrier body so that the distance from the carrier body increases toward the upper part. CONSTITUTION:The rear wall 66 of the container 63 is formed slantingly at an angle theta to the perpendicular (n) so that the distance to the image carrier 1 increases toward the upper part. Consequently, the rear wall 66 slants, so the component of gravitation operating actually on toner which moves in the container along the rear wall 66 as shown by an arrow (c) is Gcos theta and less and less as the angle theta is larger and larger, so that the toner becomes easier to carry as shown by the arrow (c). Consequently, the toner is enabled to smoothly move in the container, a stable and excellent cleaning function is maintained at all times, and the images of good quality are obtained. |
