The cable loom (2) is held by supports (6) above a baseplate (4) over which the rotor in the housing (10) is movable in three dimensions and pivotable about a vertical axis (A) through its radial slot (12). The sections (16) of the cable loom (2) between the supports (6) are guided into a central space (14) within the rotor, and wrapped with tape unwound from four reels when the rotor is set in motion. The rotor support head (130) is mounted at the end of a three-part telescopic horizontal arm (136,138,140). ADVANTAGE - Wrapping process is rapid, reliable and largely automatic.
