The card (24) is pushed through a slot (2) in one end of a robust housing (1) into a shallow trough contg. a flat sheet (5) with a screening tab (20') which prevents erasure of the magnetic stripe by a small permanent magnet (20) on the cover (6), unless the card (24) is forcibly withdrawn. The cover plate (6) carries four or more combination locking discs (3) with slots (8) engaging pins (4) on the sheet (5). The rims of the discs (3) are secured by spring-loaded bolts (13). USE/ADVANTAGE - All extant credit and cheque cards, etc., can be protected against misuse by unauthorised persons.
