PURPOSE:To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte battery in which breakage of separator due to pos. electrode powder is prevented, by accomplishing the separator consisting in a fine porous film made of synthetic resin containing a filler material. CONSTITUTION:A convolute electrode body 11 is embodied in a convolutional structure consisting in a laminate of a pos. electrode 1, neg. electrode 2, and a separator 3 interposed between them. The separator 3 assumes the form of a fine porous film made of polyethylene to which 50wt.% SiO2 as filler material is added. This filler material as a mixture increases the separator strength against mechanical failure, precludes electrode failure due to local thickness unevenness, and minimizes internal shortcircuiting of the battery resulting from failure of separator. |
