A bulb endurance testing method in which bulbs are supplied with alternating current, characterised in that the tested bulb is supplied with alternating current of unstabilised voltage which is measured in cycles at short intervals, and at the same time for each unstabilised voltage value measured in this way an equivalent interval between consecutive measurements of the said voltage is determined in reference to the rated voltage according to the known relation between bulb endurance and supply voltage, whereas the equivalent intervals determined in this way are added up for the whole period when the bulb is lit, and the total value obtained in this way constitutes the bulb endurance at a rated supply voltage.<IMAGE>
