In the hydraulic drilling method proposed, the entire material cut away by the cutter head (1) is forced to the sides by shear forces and compressed to form a solid tunnel wall, without any spoil having to be removed. The tunnel cross-section is determined by the shape of the cutter body (1, 2). The cutter body (1, 2) is advanced hydraulically, and is held against reaction forces by bracing devices (6) with retaining claws (9) which can be extended radially against the already finished tunnel wall. After each advance, the retaining claws are retracted and the bracing devices, together with the hydraulic supply and control equipment, are advanced in turn. |
