PURPOSE:To obtain an image of high quality and to realize stable maintainability which is small in carrier consumption by using a carrier which has specific carrier property under specific development condition. CONSTITUTION:A carrier whose maximum developing electric field at a development position, i.e. specific resistance shown by an expression I is 10<9>OMEGA.cm<= is used as a resin-coated carrier. Here, V1 is the image part maximum potential volt of a photosensitive body at a development position VB is the potential volt of a developing bias, and D is the gap cm between the photosensitive body and a magnetic roll. Consequently, carrier contamination is hardly caused and the image of high quality which is free from background part staining and image roughness is obtained. Further, when the carrier is used for a long period, the stable maintainability which is small in carrier consumption can be displayed. |
