PURPOSE:To thaw food and simultaneously cook it with steam without impairing the taste of food and appetite, and also to significantly shorten cooking hours as business by dropping water on a strongly heated body that has been heated to a high temperature higher than 100 deg.C, and by steaming food by the instantaneous generated steam. CONSTITUTION:First, a strongly heated body 5 is heated with a heater 6 to a temperature of approximately 300 deg.C. Next, a food-housing case 2 is drawn out from a casing 1, and frozen food is housed inside the drawn-out food-housing case 2. Then, water is supplied from a reservoir 7 to the strongly heated body 5, and is dropped from the end 8a of a pipe 8 onto the food-housing case 2. Thereby steam is instantaneously generated. On the other hand, since the bottom 2a and both side surfaces 2b of the food-housing case 2 are formed in a netlike shape, steam can be easily circulated through the meshes of the net. Thus, the frozen food housed inside the food-housing case 2 is promptly thawed by the instantaneously generated steam, and also it is cooked with the steam. |
