The container 1, for receiving solid waste which is introduced via a letter-box opening 11, is housed in a cover 2 buried in the ground and may be raised by means of a crane or the like in order to empty or transport the container with the waste. The lid 6 integral with the actual container 1, which closes the latter at the top, has two shackles 9, facing one another across the diameter, for raising said container, and two pairs of shackles 10 for, by means of corresponding cables 18, manipulating the lids 12 which close the base of the container 1 in order to open said lids 12 and to empty the container 1. <IMAGE>
