PURPOSE:To correctly monitor the controlling level of an emulsion by a method wherein light is cast to a liquid which is taken out from a tar decanter and passed through a tube having light permeability and self-lubricity, and the amount of the light permeating the liquid is operated. CONSTITUTION:In monitoring the controlling level of an emulsion, the sixth cock is regularly opened, so that the liquid in a tar decanter is sent into a tube 22. At this time, light is cast from a projector 26, and the light permeating the liquid is received by a photodetector 27. The signal of the photodetector 27 is sent to an operator 28, and the amount of the permeating light is operated. When the output of the operator is not smaller than a threshold value, the liquid running in the tube 22 is determined to be ammoniacal liquor. If the output is not larger than the threshold value, the liquid is determined to be an emulsion. The output of the operator 28 is displayed at a display device. At alarm is generated when the output is not larger than the threshold value. Accordingly, the controlling level of the emulsion can be correctly monitored. |
