PURPOSE:To constitute this optical scanner at a low cost by constituting an optical waveguide array so that the optical axis of a light beam emitted from each optical waveguide for constituting the optical waveguide array is intersected roughly vertically with each optical waveguide itself. CONSTITUTION:The tip part of an optical waveguide array 15 formed by juxtaposing many optical waveguides for propagating a light beam emitted from a light source 11, based on an image signal is bent in a roughly circular shape therefor, since the optical axis of a light beam emitted from an emitting end 15b of each optical waveguide performs the function of a cylindrical lens, therefore, the light beam is condensed in the parallel direction of the emitting end. In such a way, only a part of the optical waveguide array 15, and a cylindrical lens 16 are used, and it is unnecessary to use an expensive refractive index distribution lens for a condensing means of the emitting end 15b, therefore, the optical scanner is constituted at a very low cost. |
