PURPOSE:To allow the scanning of a laser beam by mounting a magnetic material to the exit end of an optical fiber and controlling the magnetic force of a specific number of electromagnets mounted around this magnetic material, thereby displacing the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam L outputted from a laser beam source 11 is passed through the optical fiber 12 and condensed by a condenser lens 16 and a work 17 is irradiated with this beam. The optical fiber 12 is held at the intermediate thereof by a support 13 and the annular magnetic material 14 is mounted to the exit end. A coil spring 15 is mounted between them to impart elastic force thereto. At least >=3 pieces of the electromagnets 18a to 18d are disposed around the magnetic material 14 and the electromagnetic forces are changed by a controller 21 to move the exit end of the optical fiber 12 against the recovering force of the coil spring 15, by which the laser beam L is scanned on the work 17. The scanning of the laser beam L is executed even if the spacing between the condenser lends 16 and the work 17 is small. |
