The overhead conveyor has a single rail (7) which can be connected to either of two other rails (8,9). The switch which connects the rails in the required manner consists of a rectangular frame with the rail (7) fixed to one side of the frame and the two rails (8,9) fixed to the other side. The frame (1) supports a shaft (2) which carries two double armed levers (6). These levers (6) carry a section of a rail (4) at the ends of their arms. The shaft (2) is rotated by a lever (10) and connecting rod from a motor (13) between two extreme positions. In one position the rail section (4) connects the rail (7) to the rail (8) and in the other position the rail section (5) connects the rail (7) to the rail (9). USE - Overhead conveyor system.
