PURPOSE:To prolong life with strength, flexibility, and filling density improved by using water rubber system suspension, to which a cadmium hydroxide conversion inhibitor is added, as a binding agent, and making cadmium oxide powder paste and a sheet to be formed in a caustic alkaline solution. CONSTITUTION:In manufacturing an electrode obtained by adding a binding agent to cadmium oxide powder to be sheet-likely processed, water rubber system suspension, to which a cadmium hydroxide conversion inhibitor is added, is used as the binding agent, and the cadmium oxide powder is made paste and a sheet preferably at low temperature, is quickly dried under a pressure- reduced condition, etc., and is formed in a caustic alkaline solution. In this case, chromate, etc., used in paint etc., is suited to a conversion inhibitor from cadmium oxide to cadmium hydroxide, and low temperature is about 5 - 15 deg.C. |
