<p>PURPOSE:To detect abnormality easily and accurately and improve safety by detecting abnormality in a motor driving circuit based on deviation between motor both terminal voltage and motor command voltage in an electric motor, and prohibiting assistance for steering force through the electric motor at detecting abnormality. CONSTITUTION:One terminal of a motor 1 for assisting steering force is connected to one input terminal of a differential amplifier 24, the other terminal of the motor 1 is connected with the other terminal of the differential amplifier 24 through an offset circuit 25, and the output terminal of the differential amplifier 24 is connected to an abnormality detecting means 22 of a control device 20 containing a steering force assisting quantity control means 21. Comparing the detected value of motor both terminal voltage with a motor command voltage from the steering force assisting quantity control means 21, based on the deviation abnormality in a motor driving circuit 2 is detected. When abnormality is detected, the relay contact of a fail relay circuit not shown in the figure is made off by a fail safe means 23 to prohibit assistance for steering force with the motor 1.</p> |
