PURPOSE:To attain the equal effect at a humidity of 60% or more, compared with a conventional, sterilization with ozone, requiring a humidity of 90% or more, by performing deodorization and sterilization with chlorine trioxide generated by the reaction of ozone with chlorine dioxide. CONSTITUTION:Ozone (O3) generated by an ozone generating means 100 is chemically allowed to react with chlorine dioxide (ClO2) generated in a chlorine dioxide generating means 120 in a reaction chamber 110 to generate chlorine trioxide (Cl3). This chlorine trioxide (ClO3) is chemically made to react with an organic material contained in or generated by a deodorizing and sterilizing target material in the reaction chamber 110 to attain deodorization and sterilization. To remove toxic materials such as the consequently generated chlorine and unreacted ozone from the exhaust air, an adsorption means 130 is provided to ensure the safety of the exhaust gas. Chlorine trioxide has diffusibility equal to chlorine dioxide and sterilizing property over ozone, and has 4-figure falling sterilizing effect at a relative humidity of above 50% to 60%. |
