摘要

A display device is provided to control an impulsive driving ratio by comparing variation of inter-frame data of an image signal, thereby improving luminance and contrast ratio. An impulsive controller(400) generates an impulsive control signal by comparing inter-frame data variation of an original data signal provided from an external image source. A light source controller(310) generates a dimming control signal corresponding to luminance of the original data signal. An image display unit includes a display panel(100) where plural pixel units are defined by gate lines and data lines. The image display unit displays an image by controlling a ratio between first and second sections according to the impulsive control signal. The first section is for displaying normal data based on the original data signal. The second section is for displaying black data for impulsive driving. A light source unit(300) includes at least one or more light sources for radiating light to the display panel, and controls luminance of the light by controlling an on/off section ratio of the light source according to the dimming control signal.
