PURPOSE:To obtain the multiple families of type faces with less storage capacity by generating characters/graphics obtained by means of thickening/thinning at a rate different in a vertical direction and a lateral direction with one piece of original data. CONSTITUTION:Original data specifying the outline form of one character/ graphic is composed of first data beta1 consisting of plural coordinates (Xi, Yi) on an outline specifying the first form alpha1 of the character/graphic and second data beta2 consisting of respective displacement quantities (xi, yi) between plural coordinates (Xi, Yi) consisting first data beta1 and plural coordinates (X'i, Y'i) on the outline of a second form alpha2 in the character/graphic corresponding to the coordinate (Xi, Yi). Then, original data is stored at every character/graphic, and a coordinate (Xi'', Yi'') is obtained by an expression I as data betan based on first data beta1 (Xi, Yi) and second data beta2 (xi, yi). Then, the character/graphic with a line width different from that of the form alpha1 is generated. Thus, the patterns of the characters/graphics different in the lines can easily be generated. |
