A device for securing together two parts (4, 6) of a snooker cue 1 comprises a first member (8) and a second member (16), adapted to be secured in respective cavies (5, 7) of the cue parts (4, 6). The member 8 is provided with a male portion (14) in the form of a generally frusto-conical protrusion, having a taper angle of about 30 DEG to the longitudinal axis, while the second member (16) comprises a female formation or cavity (21) having a frusto-conical surface (22), complementary to the surface (14), said surfaces (14) and (22) being provided with inter-engaging threaded formations. In this manner on insertion of the protrusion (14) into the cavity (21), the two cue parts may be screw-threaded together by relative rotation between the two parts, such rotation typically being limited to between one quarter and two turns, permitting radial surfaces (14) and (22) to be drawn tightly together.

|
